Translating Messages

Hosting a multilingual wedding? Wedping can automatically translate your messages so each guest receives them in their preferred language.

Enabling Multi-Language Support

To start using translations, you need to turn on multi-language support for your event:

  1. Go to your Event Settings page.
  2. Find the Multi-language wedding checkbox and enable it.

Once enabled, you'll see language options appear throughout Wedping — on your guest list and in the message composer.

Setting Guest Languages

After enabling multi-language support, you can assign a preferred language to each guest:

  1. Open your Guest List and edit a guest.
  2. Select their preferred language from the Language dropdown.
  3. Save the guest.

Wedping supports 70+ languages including Spanish, French, Portuguese, Chinese, Arabic, Hindi, and many more. You only need to set a language for guests who speak something other than your default language.

Translating a Message

When you compose a message and have guests with language preferences set, Wedping will automatically show the translations section in the message composer. You can also open it manually by clicking the Translate button.

From there, you have two options:

Auto-translate

Click the Auto-translate button next to any language to have Wedping translate your message automatically using AI. The translation preserves your personalization tokens (like {{first_name}}) and the tone of your original message.

Manual translation

Type or paste your own translation directly into the text area for each language. This is useful if you have a native speaker who can review the wording.

How It Works When You Send

When a message is sent, Wedping checks each guest's language preference:

  • If a translation exists for the guest's language, they receive the translated version.
  • If no translation exists (or the guest has no language set), they receive the original message.
  • Personalization (e.g. {{first_name}}) is applied after translation, so it works seamlessly in every language.

Tips

Review auto-translations before sending

AI translations are a great starting point, but it's always a good idea to have a native speaker review them for tone and accuracy.

Guest counts per language

The translations section shows how many guests will receive each language version, so you can see at a glance which translations matter most.

You don't need to translate every message

Translations are optional per message. If a message is simple enough, you might choose to send it in one language only.
