Importing Your Guest List from The Knot
Moving from The Knot? Download your guest list and upload it to Wedping as is. We convert it for you, keeping your parties, plus ones and RSVPs.
Step 1: Download Your List from The Knot
- Open your Guest List on The Knot.
- Click Download List, then Entire Guest List.
- Save the file. Don't edit it first.
Choose Entire Guest List, not Address Labels or RSVP Responses. It has everything Wedping needs in one file.
Step 2: Upload to Wedping
- Open your event's Guest List page and click Import guests.
- Click Upload File and choose the file you downloaded.
- When we ask where your list is from, choose The Knot.
- Match each Knot event to an event in Wedping, or let us create it.
- Review your guests, then click Add to list.
What Carries Over
Names, phone numbers and emails
Each person on The Knot becomes a guest in Wedping.
Parties
Guests in the same Knot party are linked, so one person can RSVP for everyone.
Addresses
Street, city, state, postal code and country carry over.
Unnamed guests
Rows like "John's Guest" become plus ones on the guest listed above them, so John gets a Plus One instead of a guest named "John's Guest".
RSVPs for each event
Attending and Declined carry over as RSVPs. No Response means invited without a reply yet. "Not on event guest list" means the guest isn't invited to that event.
Good to Know
Most Knot guests have no phone number
Wedping texts your guests, so you'll want numbers. Import first, then collect numbers with a contact collection link.
Always check the preview
The conversion uses AI. It works well, but it isn't perfect. Nothing is added until you confirm, and you can uncheck anyone first.
Importing again is safe
Guests that match someone already on your list, by phone, email, or name, are updated instead of added twice.
